Combined Tangata Whenua Forum

Tangata Whenua are key partners in SmartGrowth and are actively engaged and participate at the governance, management and operational levels of the partnership.

In 2012 the Forum prepared the Aspirational Plan to help tangata whenua respond to a range of proposals, activities, policy directions, strategies and plans in the western Bay of Plenty.

The Aspirational Plan articulates the cultural, social, environmental, economic and political aspirations of Māori. It is underpinned by the Treaty of Waitangi and is informed by range of cultural ethic and principals.
