Integrated Planning and Settlement Pattern

The Settlement Pattern is a blueprint of how, where and when development will occur within the western Bay sub-region. Such planning is crucial to ensuring that the appropriate infrastructure, social requirements, suitable land and necessary funding are available to concur with development in an early and integrated way.

The Settlement Pattern gives certainty to the market and potential investors/developers/residents as to the long-term growth and development of the sub-region. Clear and unambiguous signals are contained in the strategy for urban limits; transport and growth corridors; employment areas; urban growth areas; increased residential density targets for greenfield subdivisions and intensification opportunities.
