The SmartGrowth Industrial Land Study identifies potentially suitable areas of land within the western Bay of Plenty sub-region for future industrial development, over the next 30 years. The study aims to ensure that sufficient supply to meet growing demands; proactively facilitating and supporting sustainable growth of the industrial sector within the sub-region.
It is important to note that further investigations and stakeholder engagement are being undertaken on the report and recommendations. Decisions on preferred areas will be made as part of the forthcoming Future Development Strategy which will be publicly notified and open for submissions in October 2023.
