A new strategy that addresses growth and guides the future of the Western Bay of Plenty sub-region is now out. The SmartGrowth Strategy 2024-2074 addresses the needs of housing, land, infrastructure, transport, community development, tangata whenua values and aspirations, and the natural environment.

The Transport System Plan delivers the SmartGrowth Strategy 2023, which considers how transport along with housing, infrastructure, community facilities and the environment work together, and the Urban Form and Transport Initiative’s Connected Centres programme.
